KYDS was beyond grateful to have been selected by the Officeworks NSW Area 5 team as one of only twenty charities nationwide to be supported by the Officeworks Make a Difference Appeal throughout June.
Before the campaign kicked off we welcomed the store managers to our head office in Lindfield to take a deep dive into our work, hear from members of our Youth Advisory Committee (and past clients) about their experiences with KYDS and what makes our support so unique, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how our counselling rooms are used. The Officeworks team participated in a counselling activity and even observed a clinical role-play of an intake session with a young person and their parent.
KYDS also leant a helping hand at Officeworks North Ryde’s community BBQ towards the end of the campaign and had a chance to personally thank staff for their support. Thanks to Officeworks and the generosity of the community, more than $35,000 was raised through the Appeal – enough to provide over 160 free counselling sessions for vulnerable youth!
